Voices of the World – An opportunity of a lifetime

14 August
12 excited semifinalists register at the Norwegian Opera & Ballet. Following the registration, our singers were invited to a welcoming event, where they drew the order of performances in the semi-final.

15 August
Opening Ceremony at Oslo City Hall. All participants introduced themselves with their name, voice and nationality. Other guests included our jury members, the Norwegian Minister of Culture and Equality, the Mayor of Oslo, and other friends of the Competition.

17 August
Semifinal at the Norwegian Opera & Ballet

18 and 19 August
Audition training with Annette Weber (Former Director of opera at Opernhaus Zürich) at Oslo National Academy of the Arts

20 and 21 August
Concert at Oscarshall with Rebecka Wallroth (mezzo-soprano, Sweden) and Sveinung Bjelland (pianist, Norway)

22 August
Grand Final Concert and Prize-Giving Ceremony with HM Queen Sonja at Oslo Concert Hall.
6 finalists performed two arias each with conductor Nicholas Carter and the Oslo Philharmonic. Presenter: Jasmin White (Contralto, USA), First Prize Winner 2023.
