Jury Regulations

The competition’s jury regulations and voting procedures are created so that the contestants may be evaluated in relation to, and in comparison, with each other. The task of each jury member is to carry out an overall evaluation of all the performances and, on the basis of such overall assessment, select those singers who they think should proceed in the competition.

The individual votes are to be given to the secretary of the jury after each round of the competition. The votes shall be delivered in writing, unseen by the other jury members.

All jury members’ votes are counted by two representatives from the competition. The results are handed over to the chair of the jury before the announcements.

Preliminary rounds

In the preliminary rounds, each jury member votes for 12 contestants to proceed to the semi-final. The votes of each jury member shall be distributed like this:

YES (strong): 3 points given to 4 contestants
YES (medium): 2 points given to 4 contestants
YES (weak): 1 point given to 4 contestants

In other words, each jury member must choose 4 contestants who are given 3 points, 4 contestants who are given 2 points, and 4 contestants who are given 1 point. When the votes are counted, the 12 contestants with the highest scores will proceed to the semi-final. If there is a tie for the 12th place, there will be a revote for the candidates with the same score.

Semi-final

In the semi-final, each jury member votes for 6 contestants to proceed to the final. The votes of each jury member shall be distributed like this:

YES (strong): 3 points given to 2 contestants
YES (medium): 2 points given to 2 contestants
YES (weak): 1 point given to 2 contestants

When the votes are counted, the 6 contestants with the highest scores will proceed to the final. If there is a tie for 6th place, there will be a revote for the candidates with the same score.

Final

In the final, each jury member shall rank the contestants from 1 to 6, where the number ‘1’ is given to the contestant one thinks should be the winner of the competition, ‘2’ is given to the contestant one thinks should be placed second, etc. When the votes are counted, the contestant with the lowest overall score is the winner of the first prize.

If there is a tie for any of the places, there will be a revote.
