High level of performances in the preliminary rounds of Queen Sonja Singing Competition

A high and very even level across the board was the jury’s verdict after the preliminary rounds of the Queen Sonja Singing Competition. 12 talents have advanced to the semifinals on Sunday, August 20th.

“I find the level of this year’s competition to be very high and very consistent. We have many different and excellent voices from around the world, which has made it both exciting and challenging to evaluate the participants against each other,” says Randi Stene, jury leader and opera director at the Norwegian National Opera & Ballet.

Here are the 12 semifinalists, in the order they will perform during Sunday’s competition at The National Academy of the Arts in Oslo.
